The musician, real name Kirshnick Khari Ball, was shot and killed in November at the age of 28, while attending a private party in Houston.
It’s thought he was an innocent bystander and was playing dice with friends at a bowling alley when the violence kicked off.
Takeoff was a member of celebrated rap group Migos, and bandmate Offset shared his heartbreak at the time of his death, writing that he was ‘shattered.’
Now the rapper, 30, says he is still in a ‘dark place.’
Straightenin star Offset took to Twitter on Saturday where he wrote simply: ‘In a dark place,’ along with a middle finger emoji.
Fans of the musician rallied to send messages of support and sharing their own stories of bereavment, with one user saying it was ‘so painful.’
Another said they were ‘so sorry’ he was battling grief, adding: ‘Try and use the happy memories you have to get you through.
‘He was a lovely man. Help his legacy shine.’
Offset’s wife, fellow acclaimed musician Cardi B, previously opened up about their loss in a now-deleted voice vote, admitting she felt ‘so hopeless’ trying to comfort her partner.
‘No lie, I have been feeling so hopeless trying to make my husband happy, trying to make him to crack a smile,’ the Bodak Yellow rapper, 30, said in the audio, which was picked up by the Neighborhood Talk.
‘‘F**king seeing him randomly cry, seeing him trying to distract his mind, completely f**king schedule been changing, trying to keep up with work after everything that he’s been going through these past couple of weeks.
Offset previously shared his pain with fans with a raw statement following the news of Takeoff’s death, writing to the late musician directly.
‘Dear Take, the pain you have left me with is unbearable. My heart is shattered and I have so many things to say but I can’t find the words,’ he began in the message.
‘I’ve been going to sleep and waking up hoping that all of this is a dream, but it’s reality, and reality feels like a nightmare.
‘Every time you would see me, you didn’t give me a dap you gave me a hug. I wish I could hug you one last time. Laugh one last time. Smoke one one last time. Perform one last time.
‘I know someone with a soul like yours is in heaven now. I hope you can see how much we love you and miss you. You have left a hole in my heart that will never be filled.
‘Give me strength, give your brothers strength, give your family strength.
‘Even though I know you will always be with us, throw me a lil sign or a beautiful dream. I love you forever, 4L and after.’
